Launched in 2021, the Greene County ROAR Program is a peer-based recovery support services program for individuals and their families and can be an essential component of the journey toward healing and wellness for individuals living with mental health, substance use, problem gambling, and various other challenges. Since recovery is not a linear journey, we recognize the multiple pathways one can take in recovery.
These services work to build a comprehensive non-clinical recovery support system that aims to build recovery capital on an individual basis with a focus on providing peer-based education and support. This support focuses on addressing the 8 dimensions of wellness.
The ROAR Program includes support groups, individual informal counseling sessions, resource navigation, educational workshops, recreational activities, and many community-based initiatives, that aim to empower individuals with the tools and strategies necessary to navigate their unique paths to recovery. By fostering a sense of belonging, understanding, and connection, these services create a supportive environment where individuals can share experiences, learn from one another, and build the resilience needed to thrive beyond their challenges.
Whether someone is at the beginning stages of their journey or further along the road to recovery, these services offer a lifeline of hope, encouragement, and opportunity for growth.
